Before you visit the pages above you will need some information on the property you are interested in. The exact address which one would think goes without saying and the parcel ID from the tax records may help as well.
You will need to know the elevation of the finished floor of your property by the 1988 National Geodetic Vertical Datum or NGVD. This number is on your construction plans (shown as the FF El. =) or you may have it on an elevation certificate or land survey from when the property was purchased. Be aware, it may be in the older 1929 NAVD datum. If it is, then in Palm Beach county take 1.5′ off the number to get to the new NGVD elevation. In my examples I will assume that the finished floor of the subject house is 8.5 NAVD, so 7′ NGVD.
