I was curious today so I looked up the proposed millage rates for Palm beach County and I was unpleasantly surprised to see my town, North Palm Beach, with one of the high millage rates.  These are the 2016 Proposed Millage Rates but the highlights are…

North Palm Beach 21.3345

Juno Beach 20.5075

Palm Beach Gardens 20.3975

Jupiter 19.4393

Tequesta 20.0114

Now, the majority of this goes to the county but lets put it in perspective.  Between the high and the low the difference is 1.8952 which is 1.8952 per thousand in assessed value and thus a 300k assessed valuation property would have tax bill which is 568.56 higher in North Palm Beach than in Jupiter.
